Office space and serviced offices in Liverpool Street once brought to mind tired buildings, with City Core banks’ back office functions for neighbours.
Now, though, the area is a hive of activity, both in terms of construction and the wealth of businesses that have already made it their home.

Changing faces
Leased office space in Liverpool Street is a mix of financial but mostly technology, media and design occupiers – a visible expansion of the ever-growing ‘tech belt’ of Old Street and Shoreditch.
Historically, much of the neighbourhood focused on two cultural hotspots. Brick Lane, once heralded as London’s curry mile, has evolved into a centre of fashion brands, hip cafés, lively bars and vintage markets – with the remaining curry houses still proactively inviting customers through their doors.

A sense of community
Liverpool Street High Street, in contrast, still exudes its community personality. The exotic fruits and vegetables in the market are matched by small cafés serving authentic dishes. Nearby New Tayyabs is also one of London’s most endearing culinary institutions.

Artistically, the area’s scene revolves around the impressive Whitechapel Gallery and the talents of its hipster denizens. Spitalfield market, a short walk, also plays a valued and more mainstream role.

Property with potential
There has been lots of residential development in the area which, coupled with the new Elizabeth Line, has made the area far more attractive as a lifestyle destination.

Commercially, the area has seen availability rise, and there is an increasing amount of serviced offices in Liverpool Street, in particular.

As the Elizabeth Line brings new investment into the area, both development and supply are likely to increase rapidly, as proved by the popularity of recent developments.
